Important Status Note

As of March 17, 2026, this repository does not load Google Analytics or Google AdSense scripts by default. Because the site is designed to support ad-supported and analytics-enabled deployments, this policy explains both the current data practices and the rules that apply if those Google services are activated in the live environment.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Japan Travel Guide ("we," "us," or "our"). We operate the website located at https://besttimetovisitjapan.cc (the "Site"), which publishes Japan travel guides, seasonal planning advice, destination strategy, and related trip-planning resources.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and to explaining, in a reasonably clear way, what information may be collected when you use the Site, how that information may be used, who may process it, and what choices you have. This page is intended to support both user trust and legal compliance, including situations where analytics, advertising, or optional external endpoints are enabled on the live deployment.

This Privacy Policy explains:

  • What information we collect or may collect
  • How we use that information
  • When third parties may process information
  • Your rights and choices
  • How to contact us with questions or requests

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two broad categories of information: information you choose to provide directly to us, and information that may be collected automatically through the operation of the Site, the browser, the CDN or hosting layer, and any enabled analytics or advertising tools.

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

When you contact us by email, we collect the information you include in your message. That may include your name if you provide it, your email address, the content of your inquiry, and any travel context, correction details, or privacy request details you voluntarily send.

Some pages in this repository also support optional external endpoints. For example, the cherry blossom forecast feature can be configured to submit an email address for updates or to send a bloom report to a third-party endpoint chosen by the deployment owner. If those features are activated, we may collect the email address or report information necessary to process that request.

We do not add you to a mailing list simply because you contact us. If a live email subscription flow is enabled, it should be opt-in and you should be able to unsubscribe or request deletion later.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information may be collected automatically. This can include log information from the browser, content delivery network, and hosting environment, such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring or exit pages, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, requested URLs, and diagnostic or security event information.

Depending on what is enabled in the live deployment, automatic collection may also include cookies or similar technologies used for site performance, analytics, or advertising. We use the word "cookies" broadly here to include browser cookies and similar identifiers that support remembering state, measuring usage, or delivering ads.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3.1 To Operate and Improve the Site

  • Understand how readers use the Site and which guides are most useful
  • Monitor performance, detect broken pages, and resolve technical issues
  • Improve content quality, navigation, readability, and site structure
  • Protect the Site from abuse, spam, scraping, or other harmful activity

3.2 To Display Advertisements

If advertising is enabled on the live deployment, we may use Google AdSense or a comparable advertising service to display ads. Ad revenue helps support the Site and keeps public guides available without a paywall.

3.3 To Respond to Your Inquiries

  • Reply to privacy requests, travel questions, and correction notices
  • Review editorial feedback and update content where appropriate
  • Handle deletion, access, or objection requests where legally required

3.4 To Comply with Legal Obligations

We may use and retain information as necessary to comply with applicable law, resolve disputes, enforce policies, respond to lawful requests, or document compliance decisions.

3.5 To Protect the Site and Users

Technical logs and infrastructure-level information may be used to detect suspicious behavior, protect the Site from abuse, and maintain security for visitors and the publisher.

4. Google AdSense & Advertising

Important: About Advertising

As of March 17, 2026, Google AdSense is not loaded by default in this repository. If AdSense is activated on the live site, Google may use cookies or similar technologies to personalize ads, measure ad performance, and reduce repeated ad delivery.

Opt out of personalized ads

This section is included because the Site is being prepared for ad-supported operation and AdSense review. When Google AdSense is active, Google LLC and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show you ads based on prior visits to this Site and other websites, to measure the performance of advertisements, and to detect invalid or fraudulent ad activity.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet. Personalized ad delivery is controlled by Google's own settings and the opt-out tools described below.

You can learn more or adjust your choices by visiting:

If the Site is served with non-personalized ads, Google may still use contextual or limited technical signals to display and measure advertising in accordance with its own policies.

5. Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. As with AdSense, this section is written to cover both current and future deployment states. The repository does not currently load a Google Analytics tag by default, but this policy applies if a deployment owner enables it.

When enabled, Google Analytics may collect information such as:

  • Pages visited and time spent on pages
  • Traffic sources and referral paths
  • Device, browser, and operating system information
  • Approximate location at country or city level
  • Interaction patterns such as clicks, scroll behavior, and navigation flow

We would use that information to understand which guides are valuable, improve structure and content, and identify technical issues or broken user journeys. If Google Analytics is enabled, IP anonymization should be used where supported and appropriate.

You can learn more or opt out by visiting:

6. Affiliate Links & Third-Party Services

6.1 Affiliate Disclosure

Some pages on the Site may contain affiliate links to travel-related products or services. If you click an affiliate link and later make a purchase or booking, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not control our editorial opinions.

Because partner relationships can change over time, we do not publish a permanent closed list of every affiliate program on this page unless a specific partner is consistently material to the Site. Individual articles or future disclosure pages may provide more specific notices where appropriate.

6.2 Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party resources such as official tourism boards, booking platforms, weather sources, and travel tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. When you leave our domain, the privacy policy and terms of the destination site will apply.

6.3 Optional External Endpoints

Some features can be connected to third-party endpoints by environment variable. For example, the cherry blossom forecast page can submit subscription or bloom-report data to an endpoint chosen by the deployment owner. If such endpoints are enabled, the operator of that endpoint may process the data you send, and additional disclosures should be provided near the relevant form or feature.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information. Even where a specific law does not apply, we aim to handle reasonable privacy requests in a practical and good-faith manner.

7.1 Cookie Controls

Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through browser settings. Disabling cookies may reduce the usefulness of certain features or change how analytics and advertising tools behave.

7.2 GDPR Rights (EU / EEA Users)

EU / EEA Users: Your GDPR Rights

If GDPR applies to you, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. Contact us at contact@aigotowork.work.

  • Right to Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure: request deletion of personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Data Portability: request data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.
  • Right to Object: object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: withdraw consent where processing depends on it.

We aim to respond to GDPR-related requests within 30 days.

7.3 CCPA Rights (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA. Those rights can include the right to know, the right to request deletion, the right to correct certain personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where applicable.

We do not sell personal information for money. If our practices change in a way that triggers a legal opt-out right, we will update this policy and provide an appropriate mechanism.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Security measures may include HTTPS, access controls, provider-level protections, routine updates, and practical limitations on who can access direct correspondence.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is perfectly secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us at contact@aigotowork.work as soon as possible.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and for EU-related processing contexts not under 16 where consent rules require a higher age threshold. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner intended to profile or market to them.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will review the issue and take appropriate deletion steps where required.

11. International Data Transfers

The Site is operated from Japan for a global audience. Depending on the providers used by the live deployment, information may be processed in Japan, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate infrastructure.

For example, Cloudflare operates a global network, and Google services, if enabled, may process data in jurisdictions outside your home country. Where applicable, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms, such as contractual safeguards, provider commitments, or your use of the service after receiving this notice.

12. Third-Party Service Providers

We may work with third-party service providers that help host, secure, analyze, or monetize the Site. These providers are expected to use information only as needed to deliver their services and according to their own legal obligations and privacy documentation.

13. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no consistent universal standard for interpreting DNT signals across websites and services, so the Site does not guarantee a specific response to DNT headers. You can still use browser settings, ad settings, and the opt-out tools listed above to limit tracking.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, business model, or provider relationships.

When we make material changes, we will update the last updated date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of the Site after an updated Privacy Policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.

16. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is intended to be interpreted in accordance with applicable privacy and consumer protection laws, including GDPR for EU/EEA users, CCPA/CPRA for California users, Japan's APPI where applicable, and other local laws that may apply based on where users are located and how the Site is operated.
